Our client, a rapidly growing consultancy owned by highly experienced and recognised practitioners in UK Defence consultancy, specializes in Operational Research (OR) and Operational Analysis (OA) throughout the capability lifecycle. Their expertise ranges from early-stage concept development to acquisition in all domains, utilizing soft methods, stakeholder engagement, historical trends and data analysis, simulation modelling, and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). This analysis supports capability acquisitions, requirements trade-off analysis, operational effectiveness, and business case support, including benefits analysis.
Role Overview:
Our client seeks consultants with varying levels of experience who possess both technical expertise and interpersonal skills. Ideal candidates can work independently or in small teams and contribute to the company's growth. This position offers competitive salaries and packages, along with rapid advancement opportunities for those with the drive to develop their skills and the company's.
Essential Requirements:
- Operational Analysis: Experience in supporting business decision-making, policy development, and/or research using both soft and hard techniques (problem structuring and modelling).
- Analytical Methods and Models: Development and use of analytical methods and models.
- Customer and Stakeholder Relationships: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Technical Reporting: Experience in authoring technical reports and presenting to customers.
- MS Office Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel across the UK, particularly the South and Southwest, and work away from home for periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Consulting: Deliver technical consulting projects.
- Customer Relationships: Build new relationships and maintain current ones.
- Applying OA Methods: Tackle real-world problems using OA methods, tools, and techniques, developing novel approaches as required.
- Leadership: Lead analysis, teams, and deliver innovative approaches and/or win new work.
Qualifications:
- Education: Ideally educated to degree level or possess relevant experience.
- Professional Membership: Membership in an appropriate professional body (e.g., Operational Research Society) and a desire for further professional development.
- Security Clearance: Candidates must either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting employment.
