Led by racing legend Michael Andretti, the team fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.

We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer - Aero Mechanical Design to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility.

In this role you will lead a skilled group of design engineers in helping develop the team's 60% wind tunnel model and testing facility, designing, and developing mechanical and electromechanical systems for the model.

Management and responsibility of the Mechanical Design Team.
Lead the delivery of high quality designed mechanical parts for the wind tunnel model.
Management of the Aero mechanical design workload and meeting required targets.

Management and responsibility for complete design projects in all aspects of the design of the mechanical systems used on the wind tunnel model, test facility and aero instrumentation.

Analyze and optimize designs to improve the performance and reliability of engineering systems.
Lead discussions with the aero department stakeholders to complete mechanical design solutions that achieve the project scope.
Evaluate, implement and contribute new ideas in design methodology including process and procedures.
Investigate and research new technologies and materials to be used in the development of mechanical systems.
Mentor junior members of the group.
Implement and manage standard design practices, ensuring these are adhered to.
Occasional travel may be required as part of this role.
Extensive experience of mechanical design using 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
Strong knowledge and understanding of complex mechanical engineering.
Ability to apply structural engineering techniques for part validation (FEA).
Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques including composite manufacture and advanced digital manufacture.
Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
