Non emergency patient transport services (NEPTS) is at the forefront of ensuring that patient with a medical need, get to their appointment.


This role supports hospital staff, our own staff and volunteers and our patients in getting the best experience of EMAS NEPTS.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, health care professionals and ambulance crews within the hospital environment.

Providing advice and guidance in relation to NEPTS queries

  • Greet patients and visitors at the ambulance liaison desk
  • Answer calls from hospital departments professionally and politely and in a timely manner
  • Book patients ready for NEPTS transport following appointments.
  • Liaise with Operational Crews regarding patient journeys and any required updates and input all data into Cleric control and dispatch system.
  • Liaise with Health Care Professionals as and when required regarding patient journeys.
  • Record all additional information received regarding patients/patient journeys into Cleric for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times to all internal and external customers.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Report near miss/incidents immediately via the Trust Incident Reporting Procedure.
  • Escalate any safeguarding concerns to the relevant Health Care Professionals and Safeguarding Referral Team.
