Cambridge – Senior Principal Digital Electronics Engineer- £80K-£85KMy Client is seeking a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer to fulfill their business demands.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the entire product development process, encompassing concept and prototype phases to production and support.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in digital electronics design, covering the entire spectrum from initial concept, specification, and design to software and systems integration, testing, and manufacturing.

In addition, they should exhibit problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.

Main Duties:

  • Design digital baseband circuitry for radio and accessory products.
  • Resolve design and integration issues.
  • Work closely with the software team during device driver development.
  • Assist in production, defining subsystem test strategies.
  • Provide technical support to end customers.
  • Report progress to the project team and manager.
  • Support, lead, and mentor team members.
  • Conduct technical recruitment interviews.
  • Create design documents for components or products in development.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in designing microprocessors and microcontrollers.
  • Familiarity with memory sub-systems such as DDR, NAND, and eMMC.
  • Expertise in communication interfaces and buses, including USB, SPI, I2C, and MIPI.
  • Specialized in low-power circuit design for battery-powered products.
  • Experience collaborating with software teams at the device driver level.
  • Skill in designing for EMC/ESD protection.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Test is desirable.
The salary for this position will be circa £ £85000 depending on experience.
