Our rapidly expanding client is looking to recruit a
Cardiology Technician to join their team in Shipley (occasionally working in Eccleshill).

You will work under direct supervision of the Cardiology Practitioner and work collaborativelywith the team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.

You will be bright, personable and have strong IT skills. This role involves handling medical equipment, dealing with patients and undertaking administrative duties. You will ideally have an interest in cardiology or a desire to work in a healthcare setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently record information and activities undertaken with patients and carers
  • Stock control and ordering of equipment when needed
  • Measure and record physiological measures such as blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, height and weight, ECG
  • Fitting of cardiology devices i.e. 24hr tapes and 24hr bps
  • Escalate test results to other team members when issues of quality and risk occur
  • Maintain stock levels and control in treatment areas
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas after patient care
  • Provide chaperone services for patients and clinicians
  • Share accurate and appropriate information to patients within own competence
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Enable patients to access appropriate professionals in the team
  • Practice is accordance with agree standards of care
  • Monitor work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and free from hazards and conform to H&S and security legislation

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of dealing with the public/patients is essential
  • Ability to handle simple medical equipment e.g. ECG machine, spirometry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully and empathetically with distressed or anxious patients
  • Demonstrate care, compassion and empathy
  • Experience working in the NHS or a GP surgery is desirable
  • GCSE grade A-C in English & Maths and a good standard of education

This role can be full-time or part-time. The ability to work flexible hours is desirable.

Salary £20,330 (currently under review, possibility of increase)
