Truro, Cornwall, United Kingdom Cornwall Council Full time

Make a life changing decision.
Cornwall Council is one of the most innovative and progressive public sector organisations in the UK.

Land use and its outputs, especially in relation to carbon management is an important focus for the Council at present to ensure that we can all live and work in a sustainable way into the future.

The Council's farms estate has and will continue to explore with its tenants and partners, opportunities and implement new ways of producing food in a more carbon conscious way.

Renewable energy generation from the estate is also being explored to include not only the traditional solar and wind, but geothermal and fugitive biomethane from farm wastes.

A 20 year strategy for the estate was put into place by the Council's Cabinet in 2019 which focused on 4 key ambitions; farming futures, environmental growth, sustainability and vibrant communities.

Several workstreams have been put in place to deliver these which is supported with a multi-million pound investment fund. Cornwall has a Net Zero carbon strategy to reflect our priorities and responses to the climate emergency.

We are now looking for a portfolio estate surveyor with a rural focus to assist with the delivery of these 4 ambitions across the Council's 10,700 acre predominantly let estate.

The work will be diverse and the role will require an agile thinking and working individual with creativity, innovation and good attention to detail.

There will also be opportunities for involvement and development within a multi-disciplinary property management team which has a strong ethos of sharing information and knowledge to support and deliver better mutual outcomes.

If you think that rural Cornwall is a slower pace, think again. If you think that you won't have a good work life balance, think again. This is an exciting role and the rewards could be tremendous, both professionally and personally.

This is your chance to make a difference in one of the most beautiful places in the UK. Join us, and you'll be part of a welcoming, committed hard working team with supportive leadership.

Subject to meeting certain criteria, a relocation package up to
£8,000 can be applied for this role.
