Safeguarding Officer

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced safeguarding professional to join our Wellbeing Team.

  • A summary of what's involved:_
  • Support, safeguard, enable and champion the success of all students by providing front line and responsive advice, guidance, and referral to other services within and beyond the Wellbeing Team.
  • Ensure all students (aged 16+ across our Further Education course portfolio and HE), including those vulnerable students, are provided the resources to make excellent progress both academically and with their social and emotional development.
  • Be trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and play an active part within the safeguarding team, including as the lead DSL on duty.
  • Hold meetings with students who are at risk; to ensure the learner maintains good punctuality, attendance and behaviour on all aspects of their learning programme.

Please note that this role is a part-time role, working days are flexible but as a minimum you will be required on campus 3-4 days a week.

About you

  • You will have experience of supporting young people and working with a range of stakeholders in a student support setting.
  • You will know the importance of student confidentiality when working with young people in crisis and of building and maintaining effective professional boundaries with staff and students.
  • Have vision to put students' aspirations and mental health at the heart of what you do.
  • Have the ability to role model appropriate and aspirational behaviours for learners.
