SLR's Land and Water team have a fantastic new opportunity for an early career Hydrologist to join our Manchester, Princess Street office.


The role


Working alongside experienced hydrologists, you will be required to prepare flood risk assessments, and outline Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) designs for a range of projects principally in the built environment, minerals and power sectors.

Duties will also include undertaking field-based work, preparing water chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports and Environmental Appraisals.- This role will involve projects and limited site investigations across the UK, and therefore may include infrequent periods working away from home for several days at a time.

    About you
  • We also imagine you would have the following:
  • Hydrology, Water Resources Management or Civil Engineering degree (MSc or MEng)
  • Competency in (or exposure to) one or more numerical hydrological modelling packages (Micro-Drainage, ReFH2, GoldSim, HEC-RAS, Flood Modeller Pro, TuFlow, etc.)
  • Experience in field work such as site walkovers, managing infiltration tests in accordance with BRE365, scheduling, managing and undertaking water sampling events
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good report writing skills and literacy
