Job Purpose

The main purpose of the job is to run games and ensure the best possible customer experience from the moment the customer arrives.

This includes ensuring that games are properly prepared and that a safe and an appropriate environment is always maintained.

Hours
This position is a 0 hours position.

Applicants must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Our Business

Know Escape Ltd (formed 2017) is one of the UK's fastest growing Escape Room Experience Companies with a team of over fifty employees working across four physical and mobile venues and franchises opening across the globe.


Witham Games Arena is our fourth venue, containing escape rooms and first containing laser tag, and a console, PC, VR arena.


Main Duties (listed in order of importance)

  • Greet customers in a friendly and upbeat manner, confirm or complete their booking using Resova or paper, and ensure they are ready for their game.
  • Carry out the pregame briefing, following the gamespecific script and ensuring that all key points are covered from the gamespecific checklist.
  • Fully supervise the game from beginning to end, either remotely using CCTV and a typed or spoken clueing system, or inperson as an ingame character.
  • Complete the game experience in a friendly and upbeat manner with a personalised debrief, taking a team photo, distributing cards, inviting return and escorting out.
  • Resetting the game room to the exact specification of the gamespecific reset list, double checking that it is ready for the next game, and completing Facebook posts.
  • Cover reception and deal with any facetoface or telephone bookings or enquiries between games and assist in the daily openingup and closingdown of the site.

Additional Duties (as required from time to time)
Cleaning game rooms as required, including vacuuming and dusting all in-reach surfaces and wiping down all props and locks.

  • Making emergency repairs and replacements to damaged or broken game items and reporting any potential wear and tear to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Distributing leaflets to the public and attending the company stand at exhibitions.
  • Participate in the preparation, building, and testing of new sites and games

Responsibilities and Delegated Authorities:

  • Taking payment for bookings in cash or by card using Resova or Square system and referring any requests for refunds to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for self, other staff and customers by dealing with immediate H&S issues and reporting any potential risks to the Shift Supervisor.

Essential Characteristics Required
Passion for interest areas of the venue is a must

Passion and knowledge of video games and gaming systems both past and present.

£6.00-£10.50 per hour
