We are looking for experienced Primary and Secondary
SEMH (Social, emotional, and mental health)

Teaching Assistants, to support children.

You must have a solid understanding of SEN, mainly Autism and SEMH, as you will be working 1:1 and occasionallytaking small groups.

This is a great opportunity for you to develop your knowledge and skills in a particular area of SEN.

There will be ongoing support for your professional development, and you will join a supportive team in a school in the
Tower Hamlets area.


Key Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide a personalised learning experience for all pupils
  • Assist with personal care where applicable
  • Provide support of the highest quality, following the direction of the class teacher
  • Support the delivery of lessons inline with the Primary and Secondary School National Curriculums
  • Provide a safe learning environment for students in your care
  • Managing Challenging Behaviours
  • Work alongside other education professionals

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant attributes:

  • Have at least 6 months of handson experience in supporting adults or young people with additional needs, such as SEMH, Aggression, anxiety, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, Attachment Disorder and LAC
  • Hold a UKrecognised qualification such as a Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care, Complete Care Certificate, or Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People
  • Have a calm and caring demeanour, with a positive outlook on life
  • Be charismatic and be able to engage young people in educationalbased activities
