North Yorkshire is seeking to appoint a Habilitation Officer to join our specialist team who support the achievements of Vision impaired children and young people.

The post is peripatetic and part of the wider Inclusion Service.


Are you a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Habilitation Officer who is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with a Vision loss.

- have one of the specialist qualifications to work in this role
- be able to provide excellent practice in provision to pupils and support to teachers/support staff and families.
- collaborate with Teachers of Vision (QTVI) and VI SPs (Specialist Practitioners for Vision) and effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- have excellent communication skills
- an ability to work independently with a high level of efficiency and self-organisation.
- have experience of peripatetic working
- have experience in working with a range of different settings and with all of age groups 0-2- have transport enabling them to travel over a wide rural area.
- be comfortable with presenting training to individuals and groups either face to face or online
- be enthusiastic, self-motivating and flexible with a solution-focused attitude.
