Main Purpose of the Role :
The purpose of the technical author will be to create accurate and concise storage documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with SME's to establish the portfolio of documents required
  • Work with the SME's to understand each method of backup and restore used within the environment
  • Produce high quality comprehensive documentation based on the information obtained
  • Ensure documentation meets quality standards and is user-friendly
  • Submit the documents for peer review and amend as required

Skills and Experience:
Essential

  • Excellent technical authoring skills
  • Good understanding of Infrastructure generally (Windows, Unix, Linux, Networking, Virtualisation)
  • Possess a good working knowledge IT infrastructure in general. More detailed knowledge of Storage and Backup systems (EMC Networker, Rubrik & TSM) would be preferable
  • Expert in the use of standard authoring tools such as Word, Excel and Visio

Work Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a technical author, preferably in storage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proven track record of delivering to challenging time scales
