Partnerships Support Officer, half time
£27,852 FTE pro rata to 17.5 hours

Church Urban Fund is about equipping people and churches to make a difference


where they live, a national faith-based movement, which mobilises and offers something for every parish and is a national platform for the stories of grassroots voices to be heard.


This half time Partnerships support office role (working with other colleagues in the partnerships team) is key to strengthening existing and building new partnerships.

We work with regional and Diocesan partners, and national Christian organisations, and well as local churches.

The individual will support the Director of Partnerships and our Partnerships Manager to build our offer to churches and dioceses, often in collaboration with other partners.

The role is also designed to work complementarily alongside other CUF staff such as those involved in programmes, communications, and policy and research.


Role

  • To be a collaborative member of the CUF Team, positively contributing to the mission of CUF
  • To support the coordination of the Together Network with colleagues and to facilitate gatherings, conferences, meetings and events including admin support for in person and online meetings
  • Keeping up to date databases of individuals and churches who are part of our networks as we build a network of individual supporters, leaders and activists
  • Using online tools for communication such as enews, slack, Teams, Zoom
  • To attend meetings with partners and support good communication between them
  • To support the Places of Welcome network

Specific duties:

  • Support the planning of the Together Network summer conference (June 2023)
  • Support for and attendance at the Together Network Steering Group
  • Tech support for the TN eg. Comms, websites
  • Eventbrite and tech support for online seminars
  • Admin support for any in person events
  • Keeping up to date databases using salesforce/mailchimp
  • Agendas, minutes and attendance at key Together Network meetings
  • Keeping up to date list of TN core staff and trustees, and using salesforce/mailchimp
  • Places of Welcome Admin
- eg. Answering queries, registering new venues, updating map, facilitating meetings of area staff.

  • Sending POW news letters and admin for online POW meetings
  • Social media for Places of Welcome
  • Statistics / Mapping / Data Analysis / Research/google analytics
  • Lead or support any other projects which the Director of Partnerships deems appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Highly personable, skilled at building trusted, positive relationships
  • Ability to give admin support to meetings, events and training sessions
  • Able to liaise with a wide variety of people both internally and externally
  • Excellent administrative, organisation and time management skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Resilience and personal integrity;
  • Excellent research skills
  • Ability to write, analyse, develop and summarise complex ideas
  • Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills with experience in creating digital resources, managing databases as well as proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and able to learn new processes and techniques quickly
  • Ability to work with initiative, independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of faiths and faith communities, and the work local churches do in their communities
  • The ability to travel to visit projects and partners in England

Desirable:

  • Website editing experience
  • Experience of salesforce and mailchimp
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Canva, and google analytics
  • A good knowledge of faithbased social action and issues associated with deprivation, poverty and inequality with experience working in the social action sector, or in grassroots projects in the faith or voluntary sector, in a voluntary or paid capacity
  • Knowledge of Christian organisations, church structures and theological and worship traditions

Reporting line and work location
This role reports into the Director of Partnerships. We have funding for this post for three years.
