Overview of the role:
The primary role of the team leader position will be to control the daily activities of the Material Goods in team of the business to ensure daily targets are achieved, whilst ensuring that Health and Safety and quality standards remain a primary focus.
Main Responsibilities:
· Fully participating in all Health and Safety development and management activities, ensuring team members have sufficient PPE to suit their operational environment against the area safety man.
· Supporting the Group Leader in attaining production requirements and in new starter inductions.
· Planning and populating daily sixteen panel job roles for the teams' daily activities and monitoring daily workload to relocate manning if necessary to allow smooth flow of part movement.
· To coach and cross train team members to ensure the skill set within the team is continually developed and 3 x 3 cover on skill matrix is a minimum to allow flexibility within the team.
· To populate and brief team leader communication meetings with relevant KPI information,
· Liaise between management and team members.
· Pursue continuous improvement through operational procedures, kaizens, housekeeping by introducing and sustaining 5s check sheets against visual standards.
· Maintain and improve quality standards within the processes.
· To assist the Group Leaders in ensuring all accidents and near misses are reported, documented, and investigated.
· To conduct daily area patrols in area
· Control of raising and closing out issues through the Problem / Counter Measure boards and weekly planned reviews with group leader
· Populate KPI documents on the Production system work group board in line with frequency.
About you:
· A knowledge of SAP
· Ability to work unsupervised and act on their own initiative.
· Must lead by example, show leadership qualities, and can motivate staff to deliver against targets.
· Must be able to demonstrate the ability to influence and manage change within the business.
· Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
· Have a keen sense of Urgency to deliver against KPI targets.
