Responsibilities:

Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 in carpentry and joinery to young people aged 162
Assist in the design and preparation of materials, resources and information to be used in respect of programme delivery and ensure lesson plans are prepared for directed training sessions.
Carry out initial and diagnostic assessments which will help inform group learning plans and allow accurate tracking of each participants progression towards the required target level;
Carry out the delivery of individual or group training sessions using differentiated teaching and learning strategies in accordance with the schemes of work and lesson plans.
Ensure placements are well matched to the learners' programme.
Collaborate with other tutors and educators.
Maintain uptodate knowledge of educational best practices and researchbased educational methods and techniques.
Ensure that students are achieving their goals through study and practice.
Evaluate students' progress over the course of study.

Requirements:

Excellent organisational, communication and people skills;
Positive, enthusiastic approach to problem solving with a "can do" attitude;
GCSE grade 'C' or equivalent in Math and English;
2 years relevant work experience;
Qualification in Wood Occupations / Carpentry & Joinery at Level 3 or above;
Certificate in Teaching B Ed, PGCE or PGCFHE, working towards a Certificate or willing to work towards a Certificate; or Diploma in Teaching;
Experience of using Microsoft office packages such as Word and Outlook.
