We're partnering with a client offering an amazing opportunity for a Yard / FLT Counterbalance Operative to supervise the efficient functioning of the yard area. This role involves overseeing inventory, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and assisting with goods loading and unloading, contributing to the smooth operation of the business.


Job Description:

As a Yard Operative, you'll be in charge of managing the yard area at the Nottingham Depot efficiently. Your main responsibilities include organizing inventory, overseeing loading and unloading operations, and ensuring the yard area remains clean, safe, and well-organized.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management:
    • Receiving and inspecting incoming goods.
    • Organizing and storing goods.
    • Maintaining accurate inventory records.
    • Ensuring sufficient inventory levels.
  • Yard Maintenance:
    • Keeping the yard clean and hazard-free.
    • Performing routine equipment maintenance.
    • Reporting maintenance needs.
  • Loading and Unloading:
    • Assisting with goods loading and unloading.
    • Securing goods properly.
    • Using appropriate equipment.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhering to health and safety regulations.
    • Wearing necessary personal protective equipment.
    • Identifying and reporting safety hazards.
  • Customer Service:
    • Assisting customers and delivery personnel.
    • Ensuring timely and accurate service.
  • Teamwork:
    • Collaborating with colleagues for efficient operations.
    • Effective communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Primarily outdoor work in a yard setting.
    • Involves lifting heavy objects and machinery operation.
    • Flexible hours, including weekends based on business needs.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • FLT Counterbalance license or pallet jack experience.
  • Commitment to the role.
  • Hardworking, dependable, and able to work flexible hours.
  • Immediate availability.
