Metrea Mission Data (MMD) is one of the UK arms of Metrea that focuses on building solutions to missionise and visualise data from a variety of sources providing our customers with valuable insights across a number of different missions and domains.

We are an International business with UK offices in Lincoln, Harwell (Oxford), London and Malvern and a wider footprint in the USA, Europe and the Far East.


In 2023, MMD will be establishing a new team within the Harwell Space Cluster to continue the development of our Space product lines.

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to establish and lead this new team.

As the Team Lead you be will responsible for:

  • Handpicking and recruiting a team of topnotch engineers across a diverse set of disciplines.
  • Managing and overseeing the daytoday activities of the team to ensure they have what they need to contribute effectively to the product's development.
  • Monitoring the performance of the team whilst mentoring and coaching its members to ensure they are given everything they need to thrive within their role.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure the product's development is continually solving both our and our customer's problems.
  • Collaborating with the other MMD development teams and departments to ensure that knowledge and best practice is shared widely within the organisation.
What we are looking for?

  • 5 years' experience in an active Software Development role using Agile methodologies.
  • Prior experience in building and recruiting a new engineering team or growing an existing one.
  • A deep passion for team development with a drive to be constantly learning and furthering both you and your team's professional knowledge.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to work independently whilst planning, prioritising and managing both you and your team's workload.
  • Great interpersonal skills, able to confidently communicate with others conveying technical content clearly and articulately to nontechnical team members.
  • Previous experience in managing agile software teams.
  • Deep technical knowledge of an OO Programming Language (Ideally C++ or C#).
  • Previous development experience working on geospatial visualisation products.
  • Experience in Angular development.
  • Detailed knowledge of git and source control strategies.
  • A sound understanding of database manipulation.
  • Scripting and test automation in the Azure DevOps platform.
Where will you be based?


The new team will be London based and operating a hybrid model with an anticipation of 2 days a week in the office for collaboration both with the MMD team and wider product stakeholders.
