Normanton on Trent, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom United Living Group Full time
Job Description

Your team and role

United Living Group is comprised of four complementary businesses, all dedicated to realising our vision of creating a connected, sustainable future. Our New Homes business provides much-needed build-to-rent and affordable housing solutions, addressing the housing challenges facing our communities.

As a vital member of the New Homes team, you will assist the Quantity Surveyors with the fiscal and contractual administration of projects being carried out.

You will be fully supported, and this is a great opportunity for you to build a solid foundation to your career. During your time on your programme, you will be responsible for assisting your team with:

  • Preparing and issuing subcontract enquiries and trade packages.
  • Assessing and comparing subcontractors quotes and drafting orders.
  • Preparing monthly reports.
  • Evaluating materials on site.
  • Paying invoices through the finance system

What to expect from your Apprenticeship programme

As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor with New Homes, you'll be given a real job from day one where you will gain hands-on industry experience, and the knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. You'll be inspired and stretched professionally, but fully supported by an expert network of colleagues, as you work to build the foundations for a career within United Living, and the construction industry.

To help you settle into your role, we'll provide you with a buddy from our apprentice population. They will have some great advice as they were in exactly the same situation as you not so long ago, and you'll also receive a dedicated mentor who will help guide you throughout your apprenticeship programme to help you achieve professional success.

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto the Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Level 4 qualification with one of our training partners. You will be fully supported through a variety of methods such as classroom or remotely taught sessions, learning materials, and one-to-one support from your tutor or coach. They will also meet regularly with you and your line manager to ensure you are progressing through your programme.

Qualifications

What we need from you

  • A Level 3 construction qualification e.g. Apprenticeship, T-Level, BTEC or 3 A-levels at minimum (BCC grade).
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4/A*-C including English, Maths and a Science
  • Good IT ability, particularly Excel and keen to learn other Microsoft packages.
  • Available to start in September 2024
  • The commitment to live and breathe our company values during your work and studies.
  • The motivation and dedication to successfully complete your apprenticeship programme.

Desirable: previous experience within a construction environment.
