NI Technical Coordination Lead
Aztec West with flexibility of working from home (minimum 3 days in the office)

Join EDF as a NI Technical Coordination Lead, and you'll join one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.

The Opportunity...

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes and we are developing further EPR opportunities, like Sizewell C in Suffolk.

For the Sizewell C (SZC) Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway under a Responsible Design contract (RD) with the client (NNB/SZC Co) and being delivered and managed from both France and the UK.

The SZC project in Edvance is managed by a project team, partly located in France and in the UK.

Most of the scope of NI design replication activities will be managed in the UK from the Edvance UK Bristol office after the Final Investment Decision.

As a Sizewell C Nuclear Island Technical Coordination Lead, you'll be accountable for managing the coordination and integration of the NI Architect scope (Electrical & Diesels/ NI Auxiliaries/ Primary and Secondary circuit), related Open Points (OP), Referential Evolutions (RES) and Design Change (DC).

This role sits within Edvance UK which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, an EPCC established in 2018 in charge of the design (basic design) and the realization (studies, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning) of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.

Spearhead of the French nuclear industry, it aims through its objectives and challenges of economic competitiveness and performance, to position itself sustainably in nuclear markets internationally and those of the renewal of the French fleet.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of building one of the largest, most complex projects in Europe.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary from £60,000, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, and the opportunity to earn bonus.

At EDF, everyone's welcome.

We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself.

We're committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

We'd like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We'll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you'll be doing

  • Working with different Architect team members to ensure all aspects of the NI contributions are properly integrated and coordinated.
  • Supporting the Architects and responsible engineers, ensuring the resolution of the transverse technical issues, impacting several buildings/disciplines/contracts that cannot be solved at a lower level.
  • Actively verifying the updates in SZC-DC and SZC-OP databases, ensuring the DC and OP progress and maturity are timely reached.
  • Collaborating with the Configuration Manager to drive the design stability to maximize the replication and next of a kind effect.
  • Performing close monitoring of the HPC NI design changes, arising both in the RD backoffice and JDO, and engage with relevant discipline leads when the replicability of the change is at challenge.
  • Reinforcing the change process to make sure it is correctly being applied and considered.
  • Contributing to the preparation of the No Change Committee (NCC) on NI topics.
  • Participating to internal quality control to confirm the consistency of the OP and DC.
  • Supporting the technical departments in the Design Replication Justification process.
