An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Finance Business Partner in Powys Teaching Healthboard.

Powys Teaching Health Board covers the largest geographical area in NHS organisations in Wales, with a unique range challenges and opportunities.

We employ approximately 2,500 staff and spend around £375 million every year on providing and commissioning health and wellbeing services to the population of Powys.

This is a key role within the senior finance team, working with senior management and clinicians within the Health Board as well as independent contractors and partner organisations.


The Finance Business Partner will report to the Assistant Director of Finance and will take responsibility for providing highly complex and business focused advice and will be expected to undertake the role of expert in the management accounting and business analysis fields, including Value Based Healthcare.


The post holder will:

Provide vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the overall finance agenda, whilst ensuring effective financial control.


Take a lead role in various areas including Financial Management / Commissioning / Financial Planning / Value Based Health Care & Benchmarking / Efficiency & Savings delivery, together with other specific areas of work across the Health Board in line with the Health Board's financial strategy.


Direct, motivate and manage a team and play a key role in developing their skills and working with other senior finance colleagues to ensure the finance function overall provides high quality, professional financial support to executives, senior managers and budget holders that meets the needs of the service.


The post holder must have a recognised CCAB or equivalent qualification and have significant experience in senior roles within finance and be fully committed to Continuous Professional Development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
