This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above . (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £ 15.97 per hour)
The EAL Team form part of the ASN & Outreach Service, which provides personalised support to learners across Aberdeen City.
The post holder will provide direct and cooperative teaching, consultancy, multi-agency, and professional learning support to various settings in their role as a peripatetic/outreach teacher.
Whilst the post holder will principally work within Primary Schools, a Teacher of EAL (BGE) may utilise their skills in a secondary context to extend the provision of support to learners and colleagues; Although not essential, it is desirable to have experience of supporting bi/multi-lingual learners.
To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional,corporate life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the agreements of the SNCT
Appropriate teaching qualification
Ability to manage and organise classes through planning and preparing for
teaching and learning
Ability to assess, record and report on the work of pupils' progress to inform a
range of teaching and learning approaches
Ability to prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications and where
Ability to contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school
Ability to contribute to the school and council planning and improvement
professional development of colleagues including probationary and student
