Pre-school Cleaner

This role is based in a Pre-School setting in Smethwick, therefore a DBS will be needed.

The position is flexible and will be to work around the times the children and staff are in. Therefore this will mainly be early mornings before 8.30am or later afternoon after 3.00pm.

Key Objective:

Working in partnership with the Manager to ensure the cleanliness of the Pre-School, adhering to the Policies and Procedures as set in the company manuals and in compliance with COSHH regulations, Health and Safety and within the guidelines as set by Ofsted and the National Standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operational_
• Be a reliable member of a team, working cooperatively and with flexibility.
• Develop positive relationships with outside agencies
• To work flexible hours as requested by the Pre-School Manager
• To maintain a high standard of work following daily and weekly cleaning schedule as issued to you by your Manager.
• Ensure all floors are swept and mopped thoroughly with the relevant chemicals in all rooms including the laundry, kitchen and bathrooms.
• Dust furniture, picture frames, ledges, skirting, sills and radiators in all rooms.
• Wash all toilet bowls and washbasins using disinfectant in preschool toilets, staff toilets and disabled toilets.
• Damp dust and polish taps and mirrors.
• Damp dust pipes, cisterns, disposal units, towel dispensers and soap dispensers.
• Wash down all wall tiles with disinfectant.
• Replenish toilet roll holders, soap dispensers and towel dispensers.
• Damp dust light switches, door furniture and walls to remove marks.
• Dust telephones using disinfectant.
• Clean glass vision panels/internal windows.
• Check outside area by the front door for debris e.g. paper.
• Clean all preschool signage.
• To monitor the stock of cleaning materials and reorder via the Manager
• Being a keyholder and being responsible for locking and unlocking the preschool securely.

• Show a willingness to participate in further training to enhance job capability and improve standards.
• Participate in all selfdevelopment activities, including appraisals etc.
• Develop positive relationships with other staff working within the Nursery.
• To maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Project a friendly approach to customers at all times.
• Health and safety_
• To be aware of the company Health and Safety Policy.
• To comply with the companies regulation manuals.
• Undertake a shared responsibility for Health, Safety and Cleanliness.
• Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures, e.g. Fire Procedures.
• All bins to be emptied & refuges to be taken to appropriate storage area and bin liners replaced where appropriate.
• To report any mechanical defects for repair to the Manager.
• General_
• Adhere to the Company Policies and Procedures including attendance at meetings, preparation of reports and any other duties as required.
