Main Purpose of Job

A Telephony Professional with a minimum of 2 years' experience of both on premise PBX and hosted solutions to configure and deliver remote telephony, networking and installation services to a variety of customers. Office based with occasionalvisits to customer sites.

Key Tasks

  • To effectively help manage these calls to a conclusion, with a goal to delivering a "first time fix" where applicable that will meet or exceed our customer's expectations.
  • Working with the support team, liaising with service suppliers to assist with fault management resolution.
  • Assist other senior members of the team with the project implementation including the configuration, management and documentation of customer hardware.
  • Configuration of customer IT equipment, routers and switches and associated service on request from either the customer or other members of the team.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed and centralised records, systems and tools maintained to ensure they are kept up to date and relevant.
  • Work closely with and communicate with all teams to understand and ensure processes are followed in order to ensure all orders are accurately processed, delivered and billed accordingly.
  • Develop relationships with customers to ensure best customer services delivered at all times.
  • Will be required to take part in an out of hours on call rota.
  • Working office based but with occasional visits to site.

Technical Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Previous experience with on premise PBX and hosted VoIP solutions is essential.

A working knowledge of as many the following systems:

  • Hands on experience of supporting and configuring of traditional telephony
  • Provided remote support and configured VoIP solutions
  • A good understanding of IPv4, LAN, WAN & WiFi Networks with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve network issues in addition to configuration of network switches, routers and firewalls (Ubiquiti Unifi, Draytek, Netgear etc.)
  • Be able to effectively troubleshoot and resolve Internet related problems using connectivity technologies including ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, and Ethernet leased lines.
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Desktop experience essential, Server advantage)
  • Apple OS
  • A basic use of office Applications.
  • Cloud Services including Microsoft Office 365 product suite (One Drive, SharePoint, Teams etc.)
  • Knowledge of virtual Technologies such as Hyper-V, VMware.
  • Security & AV software.

  • You should have excellent communication, written and organisation skills, with the ability to work to deadlines and manage your time effectively.
  • A logical approach to troubleshooting customer's Voice and Network Systems
  • Enthusiastic in general but with an emphasis on problem solving.
  • Have a motivated approach, dynamtic with a "can do" attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and take on challenges even if they are outside your comfort zone and not being afraid to ask questions.
  • Have a real Interest in technology in general.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Industry specific qualifications are preferred.

Working Environment


Working office based with visits to customer sites, operating between the hours of 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday (can be flexible).

Will be required to take part in an on-call rota.
