Groundwork aims to be the UK's leading regeneration charity, working through partnership to create communities in which people are proud to live and work.


DurhamWorks is a dedicated programme for young people aged 16-24 living in County Durham who are not in education, employment or training a partnership programme between Durham County Council and 16 organisations working together to support young people and help them create their future, dismantling barriers to engagement, progression and sustainment.

DurhamWorks Programme for Schools is a dedicated project for young people aged 15-16 years old, who need extra help when making decisions about education, training and employment opportunities after year 11.


About the role
We have a dedicated Youth Team delivering a successful Youth Programme which engages with young people across our region.

Working as a member of the DurhamWorks programme you will deliver a number of selected training courses, including Maths and English to support young people of long term unemployed participants with multiple barriers, with the aim of moving these individuals towards and into further sustainable employment.


This post is funded through the European Social Fund project, DurhamDirections (DurhamWorks), as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme.


A bit about you
We are seeking someone with substantial relevant experience of successful functional skills session delivery. You must have the ability to work to and meet industry and internal service level standards.

Having experience of working directly with unemployed and economically inactive voluntary client is essential whilst maintaining a professional, tactful and patient approach.


You will have excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal and proven experience of using a wide range of information technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
