The Role :

The Principal Consultant role at Altus is a key role in the Consulting division, reporting to the Specialty Markets Practice Director. You will be responsible for winning and leading client delivery across our Specialty Markets practice. This role will play a key part in the ambitious growth of Specialty Markets and the wider Insurance Consulting practice over the next few years.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client engagements, collaborating with Altus Consultants and client change teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

  • Draw from your own established and Altus' existing network to generate new business opportunities.

  • Build long-term relationships with Specialty Insurance businesses in the Altus name to build advocacy and potential business opportunities for the whole Altus business.

  • Own, create and lead business proposals / RFPs / contracts and ultimately win business.

  • Account management
    • Be responsible for client accounts, fostering and growing relationships, generating follow on sales and new business opportunities.

  • Strategy and proposition
    • Support and contribute to the development and enhancement of Altus business strategy, insurance proposition and methodology,

Requirements:

  • 15+ years experience in the Insurance industry, with particular focus on Lloyd's and the London Market

  • Experience in strategy, change, operational or technical roles within Insurance

  • Experience in business development with experience of building and winning bids for client work

  • Experience in writing proposals to secure business sign off or budget

  • Excellent understanding of the drivers and future direction of the industry

  • Well networked across the Insurance Industry at a senior level

  • Extremely thorough, inquisitive and hard working behaviours

  • A genuine desire to improve outcomes for clients and consumers

  • Excellent people and communication skills, able to confidently converse with clients and stakeholders

  • Proven track record of building strong business relationships

  • Innovative and with a strong ability to articulate ideas, bringing them to life visually and presenting them to clients and stakeholders

  • Good understanding of IT fundamentals and different categories of FS systems

  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm to make a difference for Altus

  • A willingness to travel and undertake varying roles
