Abattoir Forklift Operative

ABP Food Group is a food business that specialises in the supply and development, producing award-winning British and Irish beef and lamb products for retail, foodservice and wholesale.

ABP Langport is part of the ABP UK division within the ABP Food Group aiming to provide quality beef to thousands of customers across the world.

Role definition:

• Forklift role to support the running of production.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift truck as required to maintain operational effectiveness, while complying to food safety standards.
• Operate forklift truck in a manner which complies with site Health and Safety requirements.
• Maintain yard and equipment in orderly and tidy manner.
• Efficient monitoring and maintaining of stock levels within the yard.
• Record products effectively using scale system.
• Ensure that relevant materials are recorded and disposed of correctly.
• Assist in loading trailers safely for transporting.
• Communicate effectively with abattoir management, yard team and all other levels of staff on site.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential

• Suitable and indate forklift ticket
• Basic IT skills
• Willingness to learn
• Team player

Desirable

• Previous forklift experience
• Previous factory experience

Schedule:

Day shift
Monday to Friday
6am to Finish, including the possibility of overtime.

Abattoir Production Manager

Rate:
£13.00 per hour
