Job summary

We currently have an exciting vacancy for an Education Development Manager. The post holder will be a key member of the education commissioning and quality team (EC&Q) and take the lead on student engagement as part of the quality monitoring of pre-registration education commissioned by HEIW. The post holder will also be required to support in contract performance management and develop education initiatives on behalf of HEIW and be individually responsible for specific education improvement projects from design to delivery as agreed by the Deputy Director, Education, Commissioning and Quality and Head of Pre - Registration Education and Quality on behalf of the wider Education Strategy and Transformation Directorate.

Main duties of the job

There will be an expectation that the post holder will develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including HEIs, Health Board staff and students, using these to effectively lead education development.

Working to the values and behaviours that underpin the strategic plan, HEIW seeks staff that display creativity and innovation, whilst driving their own performance, and the performance of others, to provide the very best experience and service to learners.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

Educated to Masters Degree level or equivalent experience. Evidence of continued professional development. In depth specialist knowledge of Health Education.

Desirable

Project Management qualification, knowledge and experience. Active registration with the NMC/HCPC.

Experience

Essential

Substantial experience of clinical operational management and managing successful projects at a senior level. Experience of successful team working. Effective partnership working with health and care organisations and education providers. Experience of managing and implementing change. Experience of effective stakeholder working with senior personnel, regulatory bodies, Higher Education.

Skills and Attributes

Essential

Strategic and analytical thinker with diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, presentation and facilitation skills to: ocreate and maintain formal and informal networks, oconvey highly complex and contentious information to large groups, ocreate clear and concise reports for a variety of audiences. Ability to understand and utilise complex information and to concentrate on complex matters whilst dealing with unplanned interruptions. Excellent keyboard skills and effective IT user. Ability to work across different organisations and their cultures. Highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to produce excellent quality work to tight and demanding deadlines.

Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.

Prepared to travel extensively across Wales and UK where necessary.
