  • Main Duties
- the following are some, though not an exclusive list, of the duties you will be expected to carry out:_

  • Make the residents your first priority at all times whilst on duty._
  • Carry out personal care for all allocated residents in accordance with the individual's care plan._
  • Carry out clinical tasks for which you have received training and for which you are competent._
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining cultures and strategies in which residents are respected and valued as individuals._
  • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace at all times._
  • Report any health and safety or equipment failure/faults to the health and safety officer or deputy._
  • Contribute to the protection of individuals against abuse._
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams in delivering individualised programme of care & rehabilitation to residents._
  • Assist with and carry out agreed physiotherapy, mobility and movement programmes._
  • Represent residents interests when they are not able to do so themselves._
  • Promote communication with individuals where there are communication difficulties._
  • Assist residents with diet and fluid taking, record and report any observations to the nurse in charge._
  • Monitor, record and assess pressure areas, any observations to be reported to a trained nurse._
  • Ensure that the resident's rooms and possessions are kept tidy and presentable at all times._
  • Answer the telephone, take messages and refer to the senior nurse in charge as per policy and procedure._
  • Maintaining, cleaning and restocking of the sluices, equipment and resident's possessions._
  • To escort residents as required at the discretion of the trained nurse/therapist._
  • Undertake any duties at the discretion of the trained nurse/therapist._
  • Develop your own knowledge and practice in accordance with current legislation and maintain a personal development file._
  • Attend mandatory inhouse training and supervision sessions._
  • Assist all residents into bed._
  • Offer residents a warm drink prior to settling._
  • Set breakfast trays and assist with breakfast._
  • Ensure residents who cannot change their own position are turned as required._
  • Contribute accurately to the resident's individual night report._
  • Carry out hourly checks on every resident._
  • Carry out light cleaning duties as specified in night cleaning rota._
- _Nightshifts hours 8pm-8am._
