Howdens Joinery are recruiting a Production Planner to join our team as part of our new paint to order service in Thorne, South Yorkshire.

This is an exciting opportunity that will contribute to our continued success and will enable us to deliver our forecasted growth and extend our service to our customers.


Reporting into our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the teams have a reliable view of planned production and plans are in line with demand, customer expectations and against our agreed plans.


What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the production scheduling of WIP and or finished goods ensuring plans are in line with demand
  • Assessing any expediting or deferrals of plans in line with customer expectations
  • Managing the production orders effectively for all processes and reporting on operational performance against an agreed plan
  • Highlighting and monitoring capacity constraints and ensuring stock is available in line with business targets

What we're looking for

  • Experience using a SAP planning system and knowledge of MRP
  • Experience in a planning role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills and
  • Able to operate effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Effective decision making and influencing skills
