If the answer to these questions is yes, then read on as we are currently recruiting a Lead Driver to join us working on our contract delivering products from our base in Leicester.

The role is full-time, and you will be working a Monday to Friday shift pattern, on a 48-hour contract, overtime is available on top of this.

The salary for this role is £37,757.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Be able to manage
    communicate effectively with both team members and the customer
  • Reporting any accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately
  • Monitoring driver progress throughout the day.
  • Concise communication with customers and receiving depots.
  • Debriefing drivers and consolidating POD information.
  • Maintaining information on Tachomaster
  • Organising Vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain site defect registers
  • Organise subcontractors when required
  • Keeping workflows up to date.
  • Create and maintain a culture where Health and Safety is a priority.
  • Ensure Workplace Organisation standards are adhered to at all times.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Full category CE Licence
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ideally, prior experience in a lead driver role
  • A good telephone manner as you will be calling customers while on route
  • To create the behaviour of working together and sharing best practices, fostering networks and collaborating with colleagues within site to resolve issues.
