Digital Trade Planning Manager - Food - 3 day Job Share

In a nutshell:

As Digital Trade Planning Manager you'll be responsible for ensuring we're brilliantly showing up to our customers across our digital channel through the delivery of a robust trade and event plan, which delivers against our customer and commercial strategic ambitions.

This role puts the customer at the heart of our digital activity and take responsibility for the most important trading messages of a given season, event or campaign.


What outcomes I need to deliver:

  • Champion the role of the digital channel around the business, ensuring its needs and potential is released across our Customer and Proposition planning thinking.
  • Accountable for all Digital Customer and Trade Planning for Food - you'll ensure we have an appropriate plan in-place which accurately reflects our strategic ambitions.
  • Responsible for our high-traffic (inc. Homepage) strategy, ensuring elected content delivers against key customer outcomes and commercial metrics. You'll ensure on-going a programme of on-going optimisation is live, and will need to make the call on any in-week reactive changes.
  • Leading a team of Event Planners, you'll ensure all elected cross-category events and brand campaigns are delivered to plan. You'll ensure those events achieve their commercial goals through first-rate customer journeys across our web and app channels.
  • Incorporate key market and customer insights into our trade planning activity, identifying opportunities for competitive edge.
  • Ensure the roadmaps for Content and Experience Optimisation and Product teams has appropriate activity to support and enhance event and campaign execution.
  • Working closely with Nectar360 you'll ensure that all monetisation opportunities across our high traffic, event and campaign pages compliments and enhances our customer proposition.
  • Work closely with Digital Operations to ensure we're operationally ready for key trading events in-order to maximise trade and protect customer service levels.
  • Oversee all Design & Implementation briefing from your team - ensuring it results in efficient and accurate briefs, delivered right first time.
  • Ensure our marketing teams (Digital Marketing, Brand, Proposition Planning etc) secure timely and strategic input from Digital to ensure our channel is front and centre of their plans and deliver mutual commercial benefits.
  • You'll ensure we "trade" our events to deliver the maximum possible performance, working closely with your Digital Trading peers to ensure we've achieved our full potential. You'll thrive in reactive moments and know when to course-correct plans in order to improve and optimise our digital metrics.
  • Lead cross-team event working and action groups to ensure alignment on planning, performance and optimisation actions.

What I need to know and show:

  • You'll have an in-depth understanding of Digital retail, ideally with experience in a large retail organisation where you can demonstrate experience in highly customer centric roles.
  • You'll be seasoned in the use of web-analysis and performance to inform strategic decisions. Experience of Adobe is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the Digital retail market and what is influencing channel performance and customer expectations.
  • Able to quickly and efficiently identify trading risk / opportunities and be adept at seeking out effective solutions.
  • Highly analytical and confident with commercial measures and metrics.
  • Highly confident communicator, able to deliver and present to large audiences at times. You'll be seasoned in delivering effective written communications, with an eye of data and story visualisation.
  • You'll have experience of managing and developing customer and trading plans, covering strategy through to formation and plan communication.
  • You'll be able to influence and inform broader business decisions and prioritisation, ensuring digital requirements are met.
  • Have in-depth knowledge and appreciation of Digital Commerce and the routes to performance optimisation through knowledge and appreciate of what influence digital shopping behaviour.
  • You'll be a highly confident decision maker, and able to do that at pace, and often in a reactive environment. You'll be able to make judgement calls and decisions independently.
  • Know how to bring to life digital action and activity to a non-digital audience.
  • You'll be an experience Line Manager, and able to evidence how you develop and nurture talent.
  • Experience working alongside performance marketing teams is highly desirable.

  • Plus an off-shore based support team
