Job Description:

To manage the Council's property portfolio effectively on a day-to-day basis, assist in strategic asset management initiatives including regeneration projects and portfolio reviews.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Organize the letting of premises to new tenants and the re-letting of premises to existing tenants upon expiry of their leases.
  • Manage property interests of the Council including valuations, rent reviews, and lease renewals.
  • Engage in negotiations with public and private sector owners and developers.
  • Coordinate Council's development projects to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Identify assets with developmental potential and evaluate planning, legal, and financial implications.
  • Dispose of assets no longer needed by the authority.
  • Research and provide information on potential new asset acquisitions and feasibility studies on development sites.
  • Represent the Council in internal and external meetings to safeguard its interests and offer property-related advice.
  • Conduct valuations for capital accounting purposes adhering to RICS Red Book and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties relevant to the role.
