The Practice Educator will be a professional role model, leading, coordinating and supporting theatre teams to ensure high quality care is delivered to all patients within their units.

The post holder will provide high quality, evidence based, patient centred care using specific knowledge and skills throughout the unit, acting as a resource to other staff.

They will promote a learning environment that optimises each discipline's development and facilitates a 'best practice' principle for patient care that is evidence based.

The post holder will be responsible for developing the in-house education programme both coordinating and delivering teaching.

The postholder will be expected to spend a minimum of 50% working with theatre staff in clinical practice and the remainder undertaking non-clinical area based education and development programmes.

The postholder will be flexible in the approach to clinical area and will provide cover for any area specified.
