As a key player in supporting the delivery of our Marketplace strategy and financial objectives, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the right products are delivered at the right times, tailored to the needs of our target accounts and consumers.

Your focus will be on driving availability to enhance sell-through rates while also maintaining a relevant and fresh product offering.

In instances where necessary, you'll proactively trade out to minimise stock risk.


Based in either London or Nottingham, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Pentland's overall direct-to-consumer (D2C) growth strategy during these dynamic times.

The role you'd play:

  • Lending your expertise in planning the seasonal product selection and maintaining optimal inventory levels that align seamlessly with departmental budget targets and overarching strategy.
  • Delivering accurate weekly and monthly inventory reports, with a keen eye on SKU productivity during monthly and endofseason reviews.
  • Be the goto person for ensuring inventory availability and demand forecasting for our online marketplaces on a weekly basis, providing insights that drive successful marketing campaigns, business focus areas, trials, and events.
  • Planning and control of online marketplace channels, including the proactive management of 'out of stocks' situations, identifying replacements, and maximising free stock opportunities to meet targets.
  • Attending project meetings for future marketplaces, staying closely aligned with the integration needs of new marketplaces.
  • Working crossfunctionally to drive process improvements with the wider planning team, ensuring a alignment and clarity on stock, sales, and inventory positions across all digital channels.

What you'd bring / be:

  • Ability to interpret and analyse sales data, trends, and market research to make informed decisions.
  • An understanding of budgets, profit margins, and financial implications of merchandising decisions.
  • The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with various teams, including marketing, sales, and product development.
  • Proficient in negotiating with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to secure favorable terms.
  • Effective time management skill, and the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficiency in maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing overstock or stockouts.
  • Knowledge of the target markets, customer behavior, and preferences.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, consumer preferences, and industry trends.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and problemsolving skills to address unexpected challenges.
  • Proficiency in using merchandising software and tools for inventory management, sales analysis, and demand forecasting.
  • Understanding of broader business goals and how merchandising contributes to overall success.
  • Profit Optimization: Focus on maximizing sales and profitability while minimizing risks.
  • Precision in analysing data, managing inventory, and ensuring all details in merchandising are accurate.
  • Capacity to develop and implement longterm merchandising strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

Pentland Brands are moving their London Hub to Farringdon in 2024. This role will initially be based in our current London Hub based in Finchley.

At the point at which the Company establishes its office in Farringdon the normal place of work for this role shall be automatically redesignated to that location.
