Key responsibilities and duties:

  • To carry out final and inprocess inspection of gas turbine engine components during the repair/ rework cycle, in accordance with production schedule requirements and to meet published OEM manual limits;
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures, quality procedures, manufactures and customer specification and industry regulations;
  • Complete all documents related to the work being performed;
  • Inspection of parts following restoration of specific features to acceptable limits, from existing datums, as defined in the repair process documentation;
  • Carry out final inspection of work (or production tooling), in accordance with approved documentation / data;
  • Produce release certification for repaired/ overhauled parts as necessary;
  • Raise Navixa Task Cards for in house repairs as necessary;
  • Carry out inspection of parts for handling/ transit damage and for obvious damage incurred during the rework cycle;
  • Ensure all equipment is safe and satisfactory to use, rectifying any unsafe conditions within the jobholder's capability;
  • To verify that all specifications and requirements are complied with, making sure only approved materials and parts are used;
  • Reidentification of parts following modification in accordance with Service Bulletins/ Commercial Engine Bulletins requirements;
  • Operation of CNC Co-Ordinate Measuring Machine using Mitutoyo control systems;
  • Reserve/ Allocate repair details parts to achieve class fits with machined features;
  • Ensure all repair routing paperwork is completed, stamped, dated, and filed accordingly;
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on machine tools, as defined in machine log books;
  • Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.

Competencies:

Core:

Essential

  • Team Worker that has the ability to fully interact with other team members;
  • Ability to manage priorities in a busy working environment, and follow a given production schedule;
  • Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal;
  • Able to read, write and carry out calculations accurately. Knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry advantageous.

Desirable

Functional:

Essential

  • Familiarity with aerospace quality procedures and documentation including process documentation;
  • Experience from a machining environment, preferably (but not essentially) from Aerospace;
  • Practical experience of CMM operating in industry;
  • Ability to read and use precision measuring equipment;
  • Ability to read technical engineering drawings, both modern and older standards;
  • Able to read, follow and action approved machining and inspection in accordance with approved information and procedures;
  • Familiarity with metric and imperial measurement.

Desirable

  • Proficient in the use of Navixa ERP system.

Organisational Relationships:

  • Responsible individual who can build upon building a relationship with customer and suppliers. Requires full cooperation across and within other business departments.

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:

**Essential

  • Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent;
  • Human Factors.

Desirable

  • Suitable engineering qualification.

Experience:

  • Previous experience within an aerospace MRO environment, preferably from a mechanical background.
