Are you looking for a development role where you can obtain a qualification and a career in Environmental Health as a Food & Safety Officer?

Are you someone that likes to problem solve and takes pride in protecting public health?

If so, this is the role for you

What you will have


You will be professional, competent and an enthusiastic Trainee Food & Safety Officer who is keen to learn and develop.

You will undertake the Higher Certificate in Food Control at university (the qualification will be funded by the council) and will work within the team gaining experience at the same time.


What you will be doing
You will work with limited supervision and contribute proactively to the strong team-working ethos. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records and producing reports. You will work closely and support the Environmental Health Officers and Food and Safety Officers in the team.

You will be given time to attend university to undertake your studies.

As a career graded post, successful completion of the course and associated assignments/exams along with the competency framework is required to move up the pay scale.

A full driving licence and access to your own car is required for this post (mileage paid).
