We are currently delivering a significant level of growth and are looking for a high-performing Financial Accountant on a full-time basis to join our growing finance team at an exciting time of opportunity and expansion.

Working within a finance team of7 people, you will be reporting to the Group Financial Controller and supporting in the people management of two team members.

The role is office based and with the flexibility regarding working hours at the start and end of the day.


This Financial Accountant role would suit a fully or part-qualified Accountant, who is able to demonstrate a good level of day-to-day management accounting expertise, including consolidation, excellent excel skills combined with some statutory accountingexperience.

As the Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for the preparation of the consolidated monthly management accounts, including calculations and posting of the monthly journals
  • Preparation and issue of variance reports to monitor and report on variances to budget and targets
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and intercompany accounts
  • Production of the monthly management accounts pack and supporting analysis for internal and external stakeholders of the business
  • Responsibility for the preparation of the individual entity accounts
  • Assist in preparation of yearend accounts and the production of our audit files
  • Assist in preparation and submission of the group monthly and quarterly VAT returns
  • Adhoc analysis and investigations for the board and senior management
  • Review and approval of Purchase Orders and supplier payment runs
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Budget and forecasts including cashflow
  • Provide support and cover for other members of the finance team (accounts payable, credit control)
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems, and implementing improvements and efficiencies to business processes
  • Managing and supporting a team of two, supporting in their role development and ensuring that processes are followed
  • Able to deputise for the Financial Controller when required

What success looks like in this role:

  • Leading the production of accurate consolidated management accounts to a high standard of presentation to meet internal deadlines
  • Accurate reconciliation processes completed monthly
  • Insightful variance analysis on the results
  • Driving improvement and efficiency initiatives of internal processes
  • Developing strong working relationships across the whole business at every level

Core skills & experience we are looking for:

  • You will be a full or part qualified experienced accountant
  • Skilled use of Excel, with knowledge of other MS Office packages
  • Proficient use of accounting software packages
  • Experience of Dynamics 365 Business Central (NAV) would be a benefit, but not essential
  • Highly motivated and resourceful
  • Strong communicator, capable of influencing internal and external parties
  • Excellent project management and problemsolving skills
  • High level of numeracy & attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and capable of working on own initiative, as an individual and part of the team
