Are you a Graduating/Newly Qualified Nurse (Adult or Child) who completed your degree at a UK University and undertook development/clinical placements in the National Health Service (NHS) .

~ Provide nursing leadership and deliver care for a group of patients
Work within a nursing and multi-disciplinary team
Lead and deliver care at each stage of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation)
Prevent harm and promote outstanding care
Support and develop others including Student Nurses, Apprentices and HCAs
Use your clinical skills (including administration of medicines) to deliver care
Use technology to inform and manage care
Maintain accurate records of care
Practice legally, ethically and in accordance with the NMC Code and NGHT policies and procedures
Engage with Pathway to Excellence to inform and developing the nursing profession

Maintain registration with the NMC as a Nurse Promote the UHN and NGHT values within role and practice Work in a legal and ethical way, assessing mental capacity, seeking consent, and acting in best interest Adhere to the regulatory Code (NMC) and relevant standards of professional behaviour and practice, including continual professional development Prepare and maintain evidence for NMC revalidation Practice in accordance with NGHT policies and procedures Engage with the NGHT Quality Marked Preceptorship Programme over 12 months Undertake NMC Practice Assessor and Supervisor development Engage with each stage of the nursing process according to scope of practice, experience, and competence (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluations) Accurately formulate and maintain a range of nursing documentation in both written and electronic form Complete and manage risk assessments for patients in accordance with NGHT policies and procedures Ensure review dates for assessments and documents are achieved and completed Communicate effectively with patients and their significant others Communicate effectively with other health and social care professionals including but not limited to other Nurses, Medical Staff, AHPs and social care professionals Assess and formulate person centred care plans, promoting choice and independence at every opportunity Actively plan and engage for timely discharge, promoting safety and reducing risk Monitor patients for deterioration and escalate concerns in accordance with NGHT policies and procedures Monitor vitals signs and calculate NEWS 2 scores Undertake a range of clinical skills including but not limited to medication administration, catheterisation, venepuncture, cannulation 12 lead ECG acquisition, bowel care, wound care and nutrition (feeding)


You will registered or are eligible to register with the NMC as a Nurse (Adult or Child), having undertaken a Nursing Degree and clinical placements in the NHS.

You will be values driven, person centric and committed to providing outstanding patient care.

You will draw on a contemporary evidence base in nursing to inform care and will share your ideas and experience to improve care and services.

You will demonstrate compassionate and agile leadership in your role.

BSc/BA (Hons) in Nursing or Pre-Registration MSc in Nursing
NMC Registration as a Nurse (Adult/Child)
Evidence of development in statutory mandatory subjects as defined by Skills for Health (SfH) Core Skills Training Framework Core Skills Training Framework | Skills for Health

RCP NEWS2 Online Course NEWS | National Early Warning Score - eLearning Programme (ocbmedia.
Experience in acute care (hospital based care)
Knowledge of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
Knowledge of nursing models including ADLs and self-care models
Knowledge of safeguarding and referrals
Knowledge of nutrition, hydration, falls prevention and pressure injury prevention
Knowledge of discharge planning and referrals

Experience of nursing across age ranges (life span)
