Do you want to use your manufacturing engineering skillsto help fight climate change?

Working as a Manufacturing Engineer at PrometheanParticles, you will be part of a team which takes the latest chemical manufacturinginnovations and turns them into the equipment, methodologies, and systems thatwill realise our vision – decarbonising the world by unleashing the potentialof metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).

You will have direct involvement in all parts ofmanufacturing engineering, taking responsibility for the optimisation of ourpilot plant, and working with the R&D and Operations teams to achievefull-scale production.

You need to have a keen interest in the application ofinnovative technologies, across a broad range of manufacturing unit operations.

The role involves working closely with Promethean'soperations and R&D teams on the company's current manufacturing processes.This involves the operation and continuous improvement of a metal-organicframework (MOF) production facility, as well as engineering responsibility forthe site's existing pilot-scale facilities, and the development andimplementation of future technologies and systems.

This role will lead the continuous improvement anddevelopment of Promethean's operations, quality, and process safetymethodologies and systems.

Requirements

We're looking for applications from people with thefollowing:-

· Already fully eligible to work in the UK.

· Bachelor's degree or higher in chemical,mechanical or manufacturing engineering from a top UK university.

· Minimum 2 year's industrial experience in amedium to high volume chemical manufacturer.

· Knowledge and/or experience of standard chemicalmanufacturing tools, techniques, and systems.

· Ability to discuss technical issues with aprofessional manner in a commercial setting (both internally and externally).

Key areas of responsibility

The successful candidate should be excited at theprospect of playing a central role in Promethean's mission to deploy itstechnology to unleash the power of MOFs. They should recognise the need to workwith intent and urgency in this rapidly evolving area, prioritising needs abovewants, and appreciate the importance of effective teamwork and opencommunication.

· Ensure the safe operation of company-widefacilities through the systematic utilisation of standard operating procedures(SOPs) and risk assessments (RAs).

· Assess new and existing manufacturing processesand workflows including participation in HAZOPs, hazardous area assessments,and the production and updating of P&IDs.

· Lead the safe design, installation and operationof new equipment, including the identification and implementation of requiredancillary services.

· Use continuous improvement methodologies tooptimise productivity and quality.

· Where required, work with external experts toperform advanced troubleshooting to improve performance and document operatingprocedures and discipline.

· Assist in the implementation of a robust,fit-for-purpose quality management system that will satisfy the increasingcomplexity of our customer base.

· Co-ordinate the maintenance and inspections ofvarious manufacturing equipment.

· 'Hands-on' mechanical work, including work withhigh-pressure and/or temperature tubing and fittings (training to be provided).

· Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies.

· Assist in documenting root causes of assetutilisation losses in the facility.
