Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Cambridge Judge Business School Full time

Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) is in the business of transformation – of individuals, organisations, and society. We work with every student and organisation at a deep level, identifying important problems and questions, challenging and coaching people to find answers, and creating new knowledge. This combination of the latest thinking from academia and professional practice enables us to have an impact on the world in which we live and work.

The Alumni and External Engagement (AEE) department acts as a central resource and partner to our community of scholars, practitioners, leaders, entrepreneurs and change agents. They play a strategic role in bringing us together to support the continuing growth and development of CJBS and our community, harnessing and strengthening our potential and impact. As part of our growing ambitions, we are now seeking a creative and experienced alumni and external engagement professional, who will join us to play a pivotal role in leading the team to take our activities to new heights.

Reporting to the Dean of the Business School, the Director of Alumni and External Engagement will work with the Senior Leadership Team to set the overarching strategy and vision for Alumni and External Engagement at Cambridge Judge Business School. Through alumni, honorary appointments, board members, donors and friends of CJBS, and collaborating with the University of Cambridge Development and Alumni Relations office (CUDAR), the post holder will develop networks and relationships which facilitate external engagement and provide an environment for our alumni to engage in volunteering, philanthropy and more, in consultation with relevant internal colleagues (both from the wider University and CJBS).

You will bring a thorough understanding of best practices in external engagement to achieve outstanding results. As a collaborative and strategic leader, with experience in motivating and managing teams, your ability to operate in this key role will be underpinned by substantial experience working across varied stakeholder groups to design and deliver highly successful external engagement activities. You should be able to work with tact and diplomacy with the chief executives and chairpersons of the most senior global organisations and established media intermediaries. Key to your success in this role will be your sophisticated interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial approach, and ability to inspire those around you towards engaging in long-lasting, beneficial relationships for CJBS and its community.
