Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable qualified Senior Practitioner (SCPHN) to join our caring and progressive Health Visiting service.

Our health visiting service provides support to families (adults) with children aged zero to five. You'll be managing a varied caseload and will need to be confident and flexible to provide the best support for new and growing families. You will work as part of a team to keep children safe and well by using your clinical judgment to support evidence-based care planning and make sure that children and families (adults) who use our services have a good experience.

As well as managing a clinical case load you will also form part of districts leadership team and support the District Manager in ensuring that all staff have the appropriate competencies for undertaking their respective roles, and up to date training to enable them to respond effectively to the health needs of all families and children. You will also play an integral part in the development and evaluation of the 0-5 service.

Main duties of the job

What will the role involve?

Contributing to a range of antenatal and postnatal care programmes
Completing HCP mandated reviews, packages of care and safeguarding.
Supporting in the supervision/ line management and development of colleagues
Undertaking a range of competent clinical and non-clinical interventions to support the outcomes for families and the service
Act as a role model for others
Ensuring the quality standards are maintained and supported within the team
Attend and contribute to team meetings
Building relationships with colleagues to enhance the team working environment.
We have full and part time opportunities ranging from a minimum of hours to a maximum of hours per week between 9am to 5pm. This role is a community-based role so the majority of your
duties will be carried out between your base and community settings or client homes.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Registered health care professional (NMC registration ) / minimum of 5 years of experience in a public health environment Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6 Evidence of Post Graduate Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice – SCPHN qualification. Mentorship or Practice Assessor qualification

Desirable criteria

Management or supervisory qualification / programme of study Working towards Master level study Practice teacher qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

Minimum of 5 years' experience in area of practice Experience of leading and managing teams Experience of developing policy and service development plans with practical experience of change management. Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor ) experience

Desirable criteria

Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ TAPS/ CIS)

Special Knowledge and Expertise
