Ty-Gobaith provides various services to homeless people including accommodation, assessment and support.


As a
Specialist Support Worker, you will support the establishment of a dedicated specialist compass project to support individuals who have multiple issues, which create significant barriers to accessing and sustaining housing and in turn perpetuate the cycle of homelessness.

This cycle can include the repeated entering and exiting of hospital, prison, homeless accommodation as well as homelessness and rough sleeping.

This has been built around the following set of principles:

  • Provide a safe secure environment to build trusting working relationships.
  • Promote stability.
  • To offer personalised, flexible and intensive support.
  • Support to be shaped around The Trauma Recovery Model.
  • Creating an integrated response across health, housing and social care.
  • Improvement on their own sense of wellbeing and quality of life.


The support will be based on a personalised trauma informed model, working intensely 121 with each person daily, providing sessional group work and_ _will build on the current partnerships between statutory services such as health and substance misuse to develop and strong working and understanding between the two sectors.

The programme will offer transitional support model with a strong focus on a move into the community and independent living and_ _will use a number of established person-centred monitoring and evaluation tools to monitor SUs' progress in displaying:

  • Improvement in an individual's physical health
  • Increased stability in their mental health
  • Increased stability regarding their substance use.
  • An improvement in their financial wellbeing.
  • An improvement in their sense of wellbeing.
  • A decrease in street activity.
  • A decrease in criminal activity.
  • An increase in their sense of selfworth through education and diversionary activities.
  • The ability to undertake accredited learning with the view to further education and employability.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in the required field with strong previous experience of successfully supporting socially excluded and vulnerable people
  • A passion for transforming the lives of those experiencing homelessness
  • Ability to plan, design, deliver and evaluate a specialist client focussed service which undertakes holistic support needs and risk assessments, identifying appropriate support for clients
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the proven ability to convey information to service users and colleagues in a clear, effective and professional manner
