Role Purpose:
As a Behaviour Coach you are responsible for developing and

delivering our comprehensive, structured ASC behaviour methodologies

collaboratively with our Learners across the school bases. Our coaches address

issues that are preventing the Learners from achieving their full potential ensuring

student ownership and maximum uptake of opportunities offended to them in the

Provision.

Skill Requirements:
Essential personal attributes

  • Drive,resilience,confidence, initiative, resourcefulness,
calmness under pressure, common sense and an

ability to manage ambiguity.

  • Ability to build rapport & trust quickly with both Learners
& staff.

Essential

  • Experience having worked with young people, especially young people with an ASC
  • A track record of understanding, developing,
implementing and assessing the impact of a variety of

behaviour management techniques, with a focus on

resolution management followed by developmental

reflection.

  • Passion and talent for working with young people
  • Ability to connect and relate to young people
  • Positive attitude and high energy when approaching your
work

  • Ability to manage change and to adapt to unexpected
demands and resilience to working in challenging

environments

  • Full commitment to the role and to helping the group
achieve its objectives

  • Ability to assess priorities and manage competing deadlines
both independently and as a member of a team

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of individuals
  • Written skills proven ability to use clear, concise language
specific for the purpose and audience

  • Access to your own mode of transport (essential)
  • Full comprehension of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
information and protocol, as well as all safeguarding

issues.

  • Competent in administering first aid.
  • An ability to perform in situations of high pressure,
showing not only theoretical understanding, but also

'real-life' understanding.

  • An aptitude to work in partnership with a number
of professionals, as well as parents/carers.

  • A willingness to attend staff meetings, support the vision
of SLT and contribute ideas towards better practice.

  • A willingness to take on challenges 'above and beyond'
their role as behaviour coach in order to fully contribute to

the ethos of the school and the progression of its Learners.

  • A commitment towards CPD.
  • History of working with children who are
disengaged with education.

Desirable

  • Ambition and willingness to take further responsibility.
  • A deep and thorough understanding of autism,
perhaps backed up by Autism Level 1 and Level 2

Training.

  • Related teaching or coaching qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a school environment

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Utilise all Woodside Group specific behavioural tools and frameworks
  • Develop and deliver the behavioural methodologies in designated schools.
  • Work with groups of designated learners with the aim of reducing
disengagement from education, low resilience and challenging behaviour,

creating long term positive attitude changes and developing Learners' life

skills and aspirations in line with the school mission, vision and values.

  • Ensure the content and delivery of the coaching sessions is tailored to the
needs of the Learners.

  • Aim to decrease the number of challenging behaviour incidents of the
Learners they are working with by integrating the use of our advanced

behaviour methodologies and tracking systems into daily practice.

  • Manage key relationships with staff.
  • Work closely with the team of Behaviour Coaches within the Woodside Group
to share good practice.

  • Work closely with the Head Teachers/Head of Base to regularly assess and
develop skills, ensuring focus on personal development.

  • Support the Head Teacher and Heads of Base to increase engagement and
attendance within the school setting.

  • Capture student voice to formulate future behavioural targets, ensuring
student ownership and advocacy for growth.

  • Create a behaviour mentor opportunity amongst the student cohort.
  • Develop behavioural strategies for learners, sharing with the wider staff team
to create a consistent supportive approach.

  • Ensure all behavioural approaches and strategies created and implemented
are consistent with EHCP dissections.

Compliance responsibilities

  • Have an awareness of the risk assessment for bases in which they work and
be up to date with all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare
of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for completing written reports to document behavioural
- incidents, or safeguarding matters.

  • Responsibility for contributing to daily behaviour logs
  • Responsibility for logging evidence of learning in lessons as directed by
