Job Description

As a fastmoving listed business we are looking for a qualified chartered accountant to join our Group Finance team located in central London hybrid working

As a member of the Group Finance team youll already be an expert in IFRS and will play a key part in the interim and yearend financial reporting process Youll be preparing the Group consolidation and financial statement disclosures in the Trainline Group Annual Report and Accounts ARA and interacting with external auditors

Youll also be responsible for preparing monthly Board reporting and will input to the monthly management accounts using your broader business knowledge to provide insightful commentary performance analysis and explaining significant variances to budget at a level of detail and tone appropriate for the Board

It will be more varied than a typical Group Reporting role and we want somebody who thrives in a varied and fastpaced environment Someone who always puts their hand up for one off projects and loves learning new things Our everexpanding business changes by the day With this comes a wealth of adhoc projects accounting implications and process improvements well seek your involvement in As such were looking for someone with initiative who can recognise and act on these opportunities for change keen to get involved with new projects to help the business and broaden their own knowledge

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of the Trainline Group Annual Report and Accounts ARA including working closely with other Finance colleagues and the Company Secretariat to produce highquality bestpractice financial reportingPreparation of the group consolidation including accounting for new reporting units as we expand overseas and deconsolidating legacy entities as we winddown and rationalise our group structurePreparation of monthly Board reporting over the groups balance sheet and cash flow statement including ownership of underlying workings and assessing business performance against banking covenants and liquidityAccounting for the groups leases including obtaining and assimilating relevant data sets to update accounting assumptionsPreparation of UK statutory accounts under FRS 101 and FRS 102 including mentoring and overseeing junior team membersMaintaining a good working relationship with the external auditors to ensure audits are conducted efficiently and effectivelySupport the business in its listed environment including researching competitor results reporting requirements and other literature to ensure the Group has a wellbalanced and informed approach to compiling its public information and presenting it in an understandable and compliant wayProviding technical advice to other teams as necessaryAdhoc project work when requiredQualificationsAn ACAICASACCA or equivalent qualified accountanteither straight from practice or with industry experienceAs Trainline is a FTSE 250 listed business detailed knowledge of IFRS and PLC reporting requirements are a mustYou will have demonstrable experience preparing or reviewing eg through audit publicly listed Annual Reports and Accounts ARAA sound technical accounting background with extensive IFRS knowledge and experience of complex multicurrency group consolidationsProven experience in coaching and mentoring junior team membersExcellent time management and ownership with proven ability to manage own workload and meet deadlinesYou are comfortable working autonomously and youre not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility to do whatever needs doing to solve problemsYou are an experienced user of MS products particularly Excel
