We are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a small to medium-sized contractor based in London and the South-East, specializing in Rail / Civils and Buildings projects.

Role Overview:

  • Assist in formulating and overseeing project budgets , ensuring efficient cost management.
  • Review and assess project timelines , delivering precise forecasts.
  • Prepare, review, and send regular requests to the client.
  • Assess and negotiate agreements and contracts with vendors.
  • Supervise and manage changes, assessments, and final settlements for both customers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide valuable cost recommendations and feasibility evaluations .
  • Carry out routine site visits and checks to oversee progress and ensure adherence to standards and rules.
  • Generate and deliver progress updates, financial reports, and essential paperwork .
  • Evaluate and control project risks and possibilities .
  • Interact with customers and uphold consistent communication with business partners.

Desired Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management , or a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated background as a Quantity Surveyor , preferably in the construction sector, with 10 years of experience.
  • Background in the Rail industry , especially in property renovations and general civil projects.
  • Strong analytical and numerical proficiencies , with acute attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and bargaining skills .
  • Familiarity with construction agreements, rules, and legal obligations .
  • The capacity to operate both autonomously and as part of a team .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications , along with adept report writing capabilities.
  • A motivated and outcomes-focused attitude with a constructive demeanor.
