Casual Heritage Tour Guide

Location:

Pay Rate:
£10.90 per hour
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is an ambitious local authority with big plans for the future and massive opportunities ahead.

Providing exciting experiences for residents and visitors, we are recruiting for two tour guides to assist in the delivery of our suite of amazing heritage walks.

As part of the Marketing, Events and Engagement Team you will assist in expanding the public's knowledge about the history of the borough in an interesting and interactive way.


We are looking for people who can/have:

  • Excellent local heritage knowledge.
  • Lead heritage walks around the borough for up to 20 people.
  • Work with the Marketing and Events Officer to offer guidance on walks.
  • Offer availability to lead or participate in a minimum of 3 heritage guided walks during the walks season (usually Easter to October).
  • Work with the Marketing and Events Officer to support other heritage related events as required.
  • Attend a minimum of 2 meetings per year to discuss and develop the heritage walks programme.
  • Commit to researching and developing new heritage guided walks as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation communications skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
