Purpose

An Apprentice Planner will learn to support all planning aspects of a project(s) ensuring works are scheduled, monitored and optimised at all times.

Working with experienced planners they will help ensure each aspect of a project is robustly planned, programmed and communicated in sufficient detail and the progress of live projects is monitored and analysed against plans on a weekly and monthly basis so that proactive, accurate decisions can be made which positively impact the Programme schedule position.

The role requires the development of sound construction technical knowledge, good communication skills and the development of expertise in the use of planning software.

Specific Responsibilities
Assist with scheduling construction plans to ensure they are delivered safely, on budget and on time.
Monitor progress against plans to ensure management have the information needed to make decisions to keep projects on track.

Assist in the communication of plans and make a positive contribution to delivering projects safely, to the required standard on time and on budget.

Provide updated planning records and information as required.
Qualifications

Ability to prioritise and meet deadlinesPrevious experience within the construction industry would be desirable.
3 A-levels at minimum BCC grade
5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above) including Maths, English and ideally a Science
Any previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline
I.T literate particularly Microsoft Office and Excel and keen to extend knowledge on software packages
Ability to develop relationships with both internal and external customers through strong communication skills.
Able to work within a team but also be self-motivated.
A desire to provide a high level of customer service.
Ability to develop operational and commercial awareness
