Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.


We are currently recruiting for a Support Coach to join the Craven Rough Sleeper Pathway Service - based at Pinder House in Skipton.

This role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The role
In this role you will be responsible for supporting people to maintain their tenancy.

As a Support Coach, you will support our clients with their independent living skills, and assist them in both the practical and mental aspects of maintaining their accommodation.

You will carry out needs and risk assessments, and ensure safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and in line with guidelines.

Finally, you will work in a strength based way, and coach clients to identify their strengths to develop a joint growth plan.


What we are looking for

  • Experience of working with people who have a range of needs, such as drug or alcohol challenges, rough sleeping, mental health challenges and a history of offending.
  • Experience of helping people maintain their own homes
  • Awareness of issues relating to people who are or have experience periods of homeless, poor mental ill health, drug and/or alcohol issues
  • An awareness of strengthbased and trauma informed practices are desirable (but full training will be provided)

What Horton offers in return?
In return, this role is offering a salary of up to £26,132 based on a 35 hour week.
