Attendance Officer Job Description

Accountable to:
The Hub Manager & Progression 2Work Senior Leadership Team

Working hours:
Monday-Friday 9am-4pm

Salary:
£13,250 pa (paid over 39 weeks)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To monitor and record the attendance of students in line with DfE codes and requirements
  • To liaise with parents/carers about their child's attendance
  • To liaise with commissioners daily to report attendance of students placed with us
  • To work with other agencies to promote good attendance and reduce truancy
  • To maintain uptodate records of student attendance
  • To investigate and follow up on cases of unauthorised absence
  • To provide advice and support to parents/carers on ways to improve their child's attendance
  • To contribute to the development and review of the Progression 2Work attendance policy
  • To undertake home visits to discuss attendance issues with families
  • To support pupils who have persistent truancy problems
  • To make referrals to external agencies where appropriate
  • To participate in training to keep uptodate with developments in this area
  • To undertake any other reasonable task at the request of the Hub Manager or Senior Leadership Team
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to meet deadlines
