Outreach Librarian

We are recruiting for an Outreach Librarian who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 5 Outreach Librarian

The post holder will support the provision of Knowledge and Library services across East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and those who are supported by a Service Level Agreement.

The role will include providing outreach services, evidence-based literature searches, delivering information skills training, current awareness services, marketing and promotions, purchasing, cataloguing information resources, evaluating services through measuring impact and ensure that the services meet user needs.

The post holder will work closely with other KLS colleagues and assist with the day to day running of the services, increase awareness of the KLS, participate in developmental and improvement work and deputise for the KLS Manager.

The post is based at the Lister Hospital Library, includes outreach work across the Trust's other sites and home working.

Contribute to the delivery of Knowledge and Library Services (KLS) to East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (ENHT) staff and students across all ENHT sites and those who are supported by a Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Together with the other KLS staff, deliver excellent training to support user professional development, provide enquiry support and expert evidence search services to ensure patient care, management decisions, research and quality improvement projects are all based on best evidence.

Building positive relationships with all service users, tailoring services to meet individual needs of users as well as working together with other team members to enable continuous improvement and development of the KLS.

Assist with the day to day running of the services, increase awareness of the KLS and participate in developmental and improvement work and deputise for the manager.

Attend staff meetings and represent the library at relevant internal Trust and external meetings and deputise for the Library Manager, including representing them at meetings and supervising staff.

Use appropriate tools such as user surveys, interviews and feedback forms to analyse and determine that services offered are relevant to local needs and demands and contribute findings to HEE impact case study database and creation of social advocacy cards.
